SJS Mechanical is family owned and operated by Scott & Jenniffer Smisek, we are a small Plg. & Htg. Business with grass roots of the trade going all the way back to the 1950’s.

We often joke the business owns us more than we own it, Jenniffer also owns & operates Le Center Floral since Oct. of 1996, she is my partner whether she like’s it or not, I could not do it with out her, often times she will get parts or I will deliver flowers for her!

You can say were no stranger to the field, whether it be in the Plumbing & Heating Field, or the Agricultural Field, the roots run deep. Myles Smisek was my Grandpa, he was a very diversified man. He was born on a farm west of Circle Lake, South Of Lonsdale, he purchased a farm east of Lonsdale right on Hwy. 19,

He farmed there for many years, he was also known as a local Handy Man & Carpenter in the area. In the 1950’s he built several dairy barns throughout the area, in 1958 he built his first house for his Mother In Law in Lonsdale. They were a ‘One Call Does It All’ Business, they did the block work, poured the floors, constructed the house, installed the plumbing & heating, wired the house, sheet rocked, taped, painted, built the cabinets, installed the windows, siding & roofing, a truly turn key operation.

In the early 70’s Lonsdale was really starting to grow, Myles had quit farming and moved to Lonsdale, as his boys had no interest in farming but picked up on the plumbing and heating trade. Once In Lonsdale they focused on the Plg. & Htg. Business, W/His sons Jerry & Jim they built a well known family business that still in operation today. Myles continued to work w/the boys, I can still remember ‘Going To The Cities’ w/Grandpa to get supplies, we listened to Polka & Waltz’s all the way! I feel this exposure led me to the passion for the Old Time Music I have, Grandma & Grandpa Smisek enjoyed listening and dancing to the Polka’s and Waltz’s. Myles passed at a young age of 52 from cancer in 1982, Jerry still runs the business in Lonsdale w/his son Adam.

Scott graduated from Montgomery Lonsdale High School in 1990, went to St.Cloud Vo-Tech and graduated w/a Plumbing Degree. Scott worked at the family business in Lonsdale until 1996, from there Scott took another job doing Commercial Plumbing Work, then started SJS Mechanical in 2001.

Today we reside in rural New Prague on a small farm in the heart of Czech Country and in the heart our work area. We also farm 200 acres of corn and beans, I enjoy all aspects of the farming and feel this helps us stay connected w/our customers. SJS Mechanical generally service’s a 30 mile radius, including the cities of New Prague, Lonsdale, Montgomery, Belle Plaine, Le Sueur & Le Center.
